dol

In Korean culture, they celebrate a baby’s first birthday (also known as “Dol”) by throwing a big party and celebrating it with friends and relatives. In the past, the death rates for children were high and many children died before their first birthday. So to celebrate this important milestone, the whole village used to get together to celebrate a baby’s first birthday, wishing for long life and fortune for the baby. This has become an ongoing tradition for Koreans today. I had the honor to create a birthday invitation for a sweet little girl’s first birthday celebration. Here are some pictures of the invitations! (more detailed photos will be posted on my website soon...)
